MCN Reporting Spies Will Go Straight to MotoGP Next Year

Having inked his recent two year extension with Yamaha, young Ben Spies appears headed to the Yamaha MotoGP satellite squad, Tech 3, next year. This is according to a report in MCN, which indicates that James Toseland will lose his MotoGP ride next year, and Spies will replace him as a teammate to fellow American Colin Edwards.


Spies is in a close battle for the WSB title this year with Ducati's Noriyuki Haga. It had been thought that Yamaha wanted Spies to return to WSB next year. We will let you know when we see something official from Yamaha.

Too bad, WSBK is by far the most exciting racing to watch.
Spies is one of my fav riders.
Watching him and Nitro Nori battle it out is too cool.

Sweet. He will certainly leave a mark with WSBK but eager to see how well he will do with MotoGP

I think motogp should be exciting next year... hard to say if anyone will catch stoner if he stays healthy though.
